Practical Nurse (LPN) Get ready for an exciting career as a Practical Nurse! This program provides solid training in providing health care in diverse settings and contexts. In accordance with the requirements of the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN), the program combines theoretical and practical instruction to prepare you to work in compliance with established practice and ethical, deontological and legal rules. Students will apply a client-centered, holistic approach. Students must complete their program of study in 4-years or less. After obtaining their diploma and receiving at least 70% in all courses, students can write the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam. After passing the exam, students can apply to NSCN for licensure. Career opportunities Graduates can work as LPNs in hospitals, nursing homes, home-care agencies, rehabilitation centres, medical clinics, and in community organizations throughout Nova Scotia.
